I provide a safe, supportive space where you can talk things through in depth. I will support you to explore what’s going on in your internal world, which can help you to understand yourself more, and develop the ability to reflect on your experience. Being able to self reflect can lead to being able to gain a broader perspective on your circumstances, which can lead to being able to make more empowered choices.
In therapy with me, we will work to identify unconsious patterns that influence your perception of the world. We will explore areas where you may be getting triggered and learn tools for managing this. I can support you to understand and process your feelings and emotions. This can help you to build resilience and start to feel more at peace.
Therapy is an investment into your own well-being and an act of self-care. This can help you to feel more connected to those around you, and live a more meaningful, conscious life.
“The curious paradox is what when I accept myself as I am, I can change.”
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
I believe that we each have a unique individuality, which is the essence of who we truly are. In psychotherapy, this is known as the 'true self'. To be able to live from our true self, we need support, empathy, nurturing and encouragement. Many of us grew up in environments that did not provide enough of this. In order to adapt, we develop defenses.
Defenses are coping strategies to help us survive in environments that are difficult to thrive in. We all have defenses that help to protect us, but they can also leave us with a sense of restriction and powerlessness. They can lead us to make choices that are not best for our well-being. In therapy with me, I can help you to understand how your own defensive structures may be hindering your life, and together we can find ways to work through this.
